Mitutoyo relocated the factory for measuring equipment and doubled the production capacity

Mitutoyo announced on August 19 that it would relocate its subsidiary Mitutoyo Kochi to Konan City, Kochi Prefecture to expand the plant that produces micrometer head.

The investment amount is about 4.1 billion yen, and the total floor area is 6800 square meters, which is about 2.5 times larger than the current plant.

The production capacity of micrometer heads is 480,000, which is 1.8 times that of conventional ratio. Mitutoyo increases productivity by introducing highly efficient production equipment that supports automation and the Internet of Things.

The company aims to expand sales channels to the market of semiconductor manufacturing equipment that require precise measurement. The plant will start operations in 2022.
