On March 6, 2021, AMADA SCHOOL OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING, operated by leading sheet metal machinery maker Amada, announced the results of the 33rd Precision Sheet Metal Technology Fair. The event recognized sheet metal workpieces created with advanced skills and techniques.
The award selection process involved a broad panel of evaluators, including members of the Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity (JSTP), officials from the Japan Sheet Metal Industries Association, judging committee members, and visitors to the Verification Plaza at the AMADA Solution Center in Kanagawa, Japan.
Out of 288 total submissions, 78 entries received awards at or above the “technical award” level, showcasing excellence in technique, creativity, and manufacturing precision.
The Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award was presented to the “Closing bend of R section” by Gendai Kogyo in Osaka Prefecture. The work was praised for its high precision and quality, achieved through advanced metalworking techniques.
The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award went to the “Strain ball” by SATO Sheet Metal Manufacturing in Shiga Prefecture. Judges commended the piece for its innovative processing technology and potential contributions to the future of the sheet metal industry.
