On April 1, 2021, machine tool builder Murata Machinery released a new model “MW100II” of a 6-inch chuck twin spindle CNC lathe.
The new model is the successor to the conventional model “MW100” and has enhanced rigidity and loading function. MW100II separates the left and right beds so that the vibration of one spindle is not transmitted to the other spindle. The machine size is 1550mm in width and 1650mm in depth.
The MW100II can be equipped with a gantry loader made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The CFRP gantry loader is lightweight and can load workpieces at high speed.
The main target is mass production of automotive parts. Murata Machinery aims to sell eight unit per month.
