On August 31, 2021, GENETEC, the distributor of 3D CAD/CAM software Mastercam, announced that it had introduced the 3D simulation software FlexSim to the food production line of ISHIYA, a well-known confectionery manufacturer in Hokkaido famous for its Shiroi Koibito cookies. The software was deployed at the company’s Kitahiroshima plant, which produces Shiroi Koibito.
FlexSim is a 3D simulation tool developed by FlexSim Software Products in the United States and distributed in Japan by GENETEC. It enables users to visualize on-site operations such as manufacturing and logistics, and to perform pre-verification for process optimization.
ISHIYA is using the software in various ways:
Simulating warehouse layout as part of new capital investment
Conducting cost accounting for the inspection process of Shiroi Koibito
Supporting on-site education and training
FlexSim helps ISHIYA improve operational planning and efficiency through visual simulation before implementing physical changes.
