NTN donated two “NTN Hybrid Streetlamps,” which generate electricity with wind and solar power, to Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, in February 2018.
The streetlights were installed at the entrance square of the Ryuyo Ocean Park in the southwestern part of the city and at the top of the Ryuyo Fuji, evacuation area of the tsunami.
The donated lumps will be used as guide lights to evacuation sites and disaster prevention lights.
Last August, the company announced that it would donate a total of 17 streetlights to five regions in Japan as part of its 100th anniversary project.
One of its main production site, Iwata works, which manufactures automotive parts, is located in Iwata City.
