On September 21, 2021, Kyocera, a major ceramics manufacturer, will enter the micromachining market with the release of the “2KMB” ball end mill for micromachining.
The 2KMB features a new coating, “MEGACOAT(R) HARD EX”, and an original S-shaped cutting edge. 2KMB is capable of cutting hard materials such as alloy tool steel, stainless steel, high speed steel, and hardened steel with HRC70. The target market is precision molds and micromachining of precision parts.
