AIDO INDUSTRY, an auto parts manufacturer, has introduced 40 collaborative robots (cobots) over the past three years to automate workpiece loading and unloading for washing equipment. The company began using cobots from Denmark-based UNIVERSAL ROBOTS (UR) in 2017 and has since applied them across various processes, including washing and blowing.
The introduction of cobots has led to a significant increase in productivity—doubling it over the three-year period.
According to President Yusuke Watanabe, the ease of teaching UR’s cobots and the ability to build systems internally without relying on system integrators were key reasons behind the company’s decision to adopt them. This flexibility has enabled AIDO INDUSTRY to independently develop and expand its automation capabilities.
The company plans to install 10 more collaborative robots within the year.
