The industry-first turning center with Y-axis function

Machine tool builder Murata Machinery, began accepting orders for the MWR120 CNC turning center on October 1, 2021.

The MWR120 is a front 2 spindle CNC turning center with a 6-inch/8-inch chuck equipped with a Y-axis function. Operators can use the Y-axis and rotary tools to process workpieces of complex shapes with high efficiency. According to the company, this is the first time in the machine tool industry that a CNC turning center with a 6-inch/8-inch chuck is equipped with a Y-axis.

The MWR120 has an X-axis stroke of 190 mm, a Y-axis stroke of ±60 mm, a Z-axis stroke of 200 mm, and a maximum spindle speed of 6,000 revolutions per minute. The machine width is 2,490 mm and depth is 1,800 mm.
