Okuma develops vertical lathe suitable for titanium and inconel machining

In November 2021, Okuma, a leading machine tool builder, developed the “VT1000EX”, a vertical CNC lathe that can significantly reduce the machining time of difficult-to-cut materials with its high cutting capacity. The VT1000EX is suitable for machining difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium, inconel and stainless steel used in the energy, aerospace and construction machinery markets.

One of the features of the new model is its high cutting capacity. The cutting capacity of Inconel 718, a difficult-to-cut material, has been doubled compared to the previous model. The VT1000EX is equipped with a high-power, high-torque spindle as standard, which enables heavy cutting of difficult-to-cut materials.
