Sodick to expand Thai factory

Sodick, a builder of electric discharge machine (EDM), has expanded its second factory in Thailand and started operation in January 2022. The expanded part of the second factory has an area of 3,700 square meters. The investment amount is approximately 500 million yen.

The Thai plant is the company’s largest production base. Demand for EDMs and injection molding machines is expected to grow in the future, along with the spread of 5G communications and electric vehicles. Therefore, Sodick will expand its factory in Thailand to meet the growing demand. The expanded area will be used for storage space for EDMs and injection molding machines.
