On April 27, 2018, Amada Holdings announced plans to invest approximately 15 billion yen to establish new production facilities and enhance its sales structure in the United States. This move is in response to growing capital investment in the eastern U.S., driven by the reshoring trend—where domestic manufacturing is returning to the U.S.
As part of this initiative, Amada will build a new factory in North Carolina for the production of bending machines and related equipment. The factory is scheduled to begin operations in January 2020 and will have a monthly production capacity of 30 units.
In parallel with the factory launch, Amada has acquired “Advanced Technology Sales & Service,” a machine trading company based in North Carolina. This acquisition aims to reinforce Amada’s sales capabilities in the region to meet increasing demand.
