On April 27, 2018, Amada Holdings announced that they would invest about 15 billion yen in founding new factories and strengthening of sales structure in the United States. In the United States, their capital investment recovers especially in the eastern area.
That is because of the reason for recent return of domestic investments in the manufacturing industry, called “reshoring.”
Amada is planning to strengthen manufacturing and sales structure in the eastern area to respond to increasing demand.
The new factory will be built in North Carolina to produce bending machine and related equipment. The factory will be opened in January 2020. They expect to produce 30 machines per month. They also acquired “Advanced Technology Sales & Service” which was a machine trading company in the state to strengthen its sales force.
