Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) opened its new co-creation hub, “CO-CREATION PARK – KAWARUBA,” at Haneda Innovation City in Ota Ward, Tokyo, on November 6. At the opening ceremony held the same day, Yasuhiko Hashimoto, President and CEO of KHI, emphasized the facility’s mission by stating, “We have created a space to bring together diverse individuals to create new value and implement solutions to societal challenges, to address labor shortages, especially through social robots (including service robots), and to achieve carbon neutrality through the use of hydrogen.”
During the ceremony, dignitaries from the local governments of Ota Ward and Kawasaki City, as well as Hideaki Ibuki, Director-General of the Manufacturing Industries Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, delivered congratulatory remarks. Attendees took a guided tour of the facility, where they explored humanoid robots, advanced hydrogen technologies, and the futuristic visions these innovations represent.
Conveniently located near Haneda Airport and Kawasaki City, KAWARUBA is designed as a modern, multi-functional space. In addition to the laboratory, the facility has areas for workshops, events and meetings, making it an ideal place for collaboration and creativity.
