The Japan Forming Machinery Association (JFMA, chaired by Hirotada Osari, President of Komatsu Industries) announced the winners of the 2024-2025 MF Technology Grand Prize on November 28.
The Grand Prize was awarded to two groundbreaking projects. One by AIDA ENGINEERING and its partners for their “Sheet-Forged Joint Enabled by Changing Manufacturing Method from Sintering + Machining”(= photo left); and another by AMADA and its collaborators for their advanced approach to manufacturing dual-acting machined products using a 4-axis hybrid press. The MF Technology Grand Prize is a unique award that recognizes collaborations between machine builders and fabricators, highlighting how metalforming equipment contributes to the excellence of finished products.
In addition to the Grand Prize, Excellence Awards were presented to two outstanding initiatives. One was led by AMADA, while the other was a project by Komatsu Industries and its partners. The Encouragement Awards also recognized two teams for their efforts, one involving AMADA and the other led by Komatsu Industries. AMADA also distinguished itself by winning both the New Technology Product category and the New Technology Environment category.
The awards ceremony will be held on January 10, 2025, during the JFMA New Year’s Gathering. In addition, these award-winning forming machines and processing products will be exhibited in panel displays at the upcoming MF-TOKYO 2025 exhibition in July.
