On November 28, Yamazen launched “ROBO-COTATZ”, a robotic system jointly developed with its affiliate TOHO INDUSTRIAL (Hiroshima City, Japan). ROBO-COTATZ combines a collaborative robot mounted on a mobile platform that is transported and lifted by an autonomous mobile robot (AMR). This system allows efficient deployment of robots where needed, while freeing the AMRs to perform other transport tasks. The standard configuration starts at 16.8 million yen (excluding taxes), and Yamazen aims to sell 10 units in the current fiscal year.
Yamazen and TOHO INDUSTRIAL, a group company specializing in automation and labor-saving equipment, began sales of the jointly developed ROBO-COTATZ on November 28. TOHO INDUSTRIAL acts as both a manufacturer and system integrator within the Group, producing the product based on customer needs consolidated by Yamazen.
The standard system combines Taiwanese manufacturer Techman’s collaborative robot, along with power and communication units, mounted on a platform integrated with a Chinese Youibot Robotics AMR. Priced from 16.8 million yen (excluding tax), the AMR transports the main unit to its work location and then performs other tasks, such as moving another robot or handling transport jobs separately, etc., while the main unit operates.
Director of Yamazen’s Total Factory Solutions (TFS) Division H.Q. explained, “This system allows us to position robots in the right place at the right time. By freeing up the AMRs when transport is not required, we can optimize the number of robots and AMRs needed on site”.
ROBO-COTATZ was showcased at TOHO INDUSTRIAL’s first private show on November 28 and 29. Approximately 100 attendees explored the system’s features and operational efficiencies during the event.
ROBO-COTATZ can be customized to meet specific customer requirements, including the integration of robots and AMRs from other manufacturers, inspection equipment or conveyors. However, the standard configuration, which includes the Techman collaborative robot with a built-in camera for correcting installation position errors, offers superior cost performance.
With its versatility and wide range of customization options, Yamazen anticipates strong demand from various industries and aims to sell 10 units this fiscal year. Initially marketed under TFS Division H.Q., the company plans to expand distribution through its partner system integrators in the future.
