The wave of consolidation is not limited to machine tool builders – it is also reshaping the machine tool trading sector.
On February 28, DMG MORI announced its full acquisition of Miyawaki Machinery (Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture), making it a wholly owned subsidiary. On March 4, the company acquired a majority of the outstanding shares of Miyawaki Machinery, making it a subsidiary, and will complete the full acquisition through a share exchange on March 28.
Miyawaki Machinery employs a large number of application engineers who propose machining solutions, as well as service engineers who handle maintenance. With this acquisition, DMG MORI aims to strengthen its sales and service capabilities.
Meanwhile, on February 14, MARUKA FURUSATO announced the merger of its subsidiary’s machinery trading companies, G-NET and Maruka (both based in Chuo-ku, Osaka), scheduled for January next year. After the merger, both companies will be rebranded under the common brand name “UNISOL”.
