Misumi to acquire U.S.-based Fictiv to expand digital procurement services

June 10, 2025

Targeting synergy with digital platform “meviy” through global expansion

Misumi Group announced on April 17 that it had signed an agreement to acquire Fictiv, a U.S.-based provider of online parts procurement services.

The total acquisition cost is approximately USD 350 million (about JPY 50.1 billion). Misumi aims to make Fictiv a wholly owned subsidiary via its U.S. subsidiary by June 2025.

Expanding digital services from prototyping to production

Through this acquisition, Misumi aims to enhance its digital offerings, particularly its proprietary platform meviy.

While meviy is widely used for small-lot, multi-variety production of machine components, Fictiv specializes in parts for final products and mass production.

With operations in the U.S., China, India, and Mexico, Fictiv’s regional network complements Misumi’s services and opens the door to global business synergies.

Leveraging CAD and big data to evolve digital platforms

At a press conference held the same day, Mitsunobu Yoshida, Senior Executive Officer at Misumi Group and head of meviy-related services, stated:

“With this acquisition, we are building one of the world’s most data-rich digital platforms for CAD models. By leveraging this data as big data, we aim to further evolve and expand our platform’s capabilities, ultimately enhancing the value we deliver to our customers.”
