Logis-Tech Tokyo 2018 was held in Tokyo Big Sight for four days from September 11 to 14, 2018.
More than 450 companies and organizations participated in the exhibition.
74,520 people gathered at Logis-Tech Tokyo 2018, which exceeded the previous exhibition of 2016 by 10,000 people.
Background of workers shortage, proposals for automation of work and efficiency improvement were in the spotlight. Especially exhibitions using industrial robots attracted attention.
Logis-Tech Tokyo, which is held in even-numbered years, is Asia’s largest specialty exhibition with the latest equipment, systems, and services related to logistics.
In this exhibition, proposals for automation and efficiency improvement of logistics work using industrial robots and exhibitions such as artificial intelligence (AI) attracted attention.
Major Robo Manufacturers Exhibit for the First Time of 22 Years
FANUC, a major industrial robotics manufacturer, participated in Logis-Tech Tokyo 2018 for the first time in 22 years.
The CR-35iA, which boasts the largest portable weight of 35kg, was displayed as a collaborative robot.
It appealed that the safety fence was not necessary even if the transportable weight was large.
In addition, there was a crowd of people demonstrating collaborative robot “CR – 15iA” with a payload weight of 15 kg and people working in the same space.
Takehiko Tominaga, vice general manager of Robotics Domestic Sales Division, Robotics Business Division, said, “We have received more inquiries than expected. I feel that visitors are interested in robots.”
