MISUMI to double automatic stage production with JPY 2 billion investment

MISUMI Group announced on January 29 that it will increase production of “automatic stages” used in manufacturing equipment for data center–related applications. The company will invest a total of approximately JPY 2 billion in its production facilities in China and Vietnam, doubling its supply capacity for automatic stages.

In recent years, the global spread of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has sharply increased demand for “optical transceivers”, which are essential for processing large volumes of data in data centers. Automatic stages are built into manufacturing equipment for these optical transceivers, and demand for such equipment has been rising. To respond to customer orders in this expanding market with shorter lead times, MISUMI has decided to invest in expanding production.
