Daifuku announced on April 3 that it has completed a new factory at its Shiga Works in Hino-cho, Shiga Prefecture. The new building will increase production capacity for its cleanroom business for semiconductor production lines by 30%.
The new building has a total floor area of 21,400 square meters. Daifuku expanded production capacity for its cleanroom business in China and South Korea in 2023. The investment reflects its efforts to respond quickly to growing semiconductor demand driven by AI.
The new factory will serve as a core hub for developing and producing transport and storage systems for semiconductor production lines.
