In September 2018, Seiko Epson launched a robotics manufacturing line at the Toyoshina Plant in Azumino, Nagano.
Investments are not disclosed.
The new production line mainly manufactures autonomous two-arm robots.
Demand for industrial robots expands in order to automate factories and improve productivity.
The company plans to increase the production capacity of industrial robots by 3.5 times the current level by fiscal 2025.
The Toyoshina Plant has a research center for production technology, and testing of technology to improve assembly efficiency in preparation for future production expansion is also being carried out on the new production lines.
