Daifuku, manufacturer of material handling systems, unveiled new plant’s construction of affiliated corporation in the U.S. on September 20, 2018.
Daifuku will consolidate two existing plants in Illinois into a new plant in Indiana, which is scheduled to build.
Daifuku plans to invest about 2.9 billion yen in the new plant and will start operating it at the end of 2019. Cargo sorting system will be produced at the new plant. Daifuku set up a goal of increasing overseas sales ratio which was 67% in 2017 in the mid-term management plan. For this reason, Daifuku will gradually shift its production system centered in Japan to local. By constructing the new plant, Daifuku aims to double production capacity of affiliated corporation in the U.S.
