Kitamura Machinery releases compact 5-axis vertical machining center MedCenter-5AX

Booth-sized footprint with high-speed spindle and automation compatibility

Kitamura Machinery has released the MedCenter-5AX, a 5-axis vertical machining center with an extremely compact footprint of just 2.4 m², equivalent to the size of a public telephone booth. The machine width is 1,200 mm.

Despite its small size, the MedCenter-5AX can machine workpieces up to 180 mm in diameter and 175 mm in height. A 30,000 rpm spindle is equipped as standard, enabling high-speed, high-precision machining, even for fine and complex geometries.

Designed for long-term accuracy and flexible automation

The machine incorporates a thermal displacement correction system, allowing for long-term dimensional accuracy. It is also equipped with a proprietary automatic tool changer (ATC) that can store up to 40 tools.

For enhanced productivity, the MedCenter-5AX can be connected to a 12-sided automated pallet changer, supporting flexible and unmanned operation in high-mix, small-batch manufacturing environments.
