In the last two times, we introduced that what Japanese companies proposed in CIMT 2019. On the other hand, in this article, we will bring up a proposal of Chinese machine tool builder.

What did Chinese machine tool builders exibit？

Many Chinese machine tool builders used robots to propose automation of the manufacturing process of aluminum wheels for automobiles.

According to a China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the number of new four-wheeled vehicles sold in China in 2018 was approximately 28 million. A considerable manufacturing amount is required only for new cars since four wheels are required for one car. The need for automation of its production appears to be high. Aluminum wheels include circular cutting of the outer periphery and machine of the inner framework. Robotic systems are responsible for switching between them because multiple machine tools are used.

JINAN FIRST MACHINE TOOL exhibited a packaging system that combines its machine tool and FANUC robots. The outer periphery is machined by a large lathe type machine, and the inner frame is cut out by machining center. The robotic system is responsible for transporting and replacing the workpiece. “Chinese customers have just begun introducing robots. We want to attract customers interested in packaging.” a person in charge said.
