Mitsubishi SpaceJet completes the maiden flight with the engine assembled in Japan

Mitsubishi Aircraft announced on February 27, 2020, that it completed its maiden flight of regional jet “Mitsubishi SpaceJet,” which is under development, with first Pratt & Whitney GTF™ PW1200G engine. The flight took place on February 14 at the company’s Flight Test Center in Moses Lake.

The flight test team of Mitsubishi Aircraft confirmed the basic functions of the engine and confirmed the performance of the engine and the fuselage during the maiden flight. In the coming weeks, Mitsubishi SpaceJet will participate in Type Certification (TC) flight tests conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the US Federal Aviation Administration.
