NITTO KOHKI’s fluid joint adopted for MIRAI

March 15, 2021

A fluid couplings maker NITTO KOHKI announced on March 4, 2021 that “HHV CUPLA” of the fueling coupling for high pressure hydrogen was adopted for Toyota Motor’s fuel cell vehicle (FCV) “MIRAI”.

HHV CUPLA functions as a connection port when filling high-pressure hydrogen to MIRAI from a hydrogen station. The feature of HHV CUPLA is its unique mechanism that prevents the backflow of hydrogen gas and the entry of contamination into the vehicle.

MIRAI is an eco-car that runs by hydrogen fuel. Toyota Motor launched the first MIRAI in 2014, and launched the current new model in December 2020. NITTO KOHKI ‘s HHV CAPLA was also adopted in the first generation MIRAI.
