DMG MORI develops solution to digitize test machining

DMG MORI, a leading machine tool builder, started offering “Digital Twin Test Cut”, a solution for digitizing test machining, in February 2021.

DMG MORI has established a technology to reproduce not only tools, workpieces and jigs but also the physical characteristics of the machine tool itself in digital space. The simulation technology cultivated by DMG MORI in the development of new models was utilized in the development of this technology.

“Digital Twin Test Cut” can significantly reduce the required time compared to the test machining with a real machine. The customer can check the cutting condition of machining and the surface quality of the workpiece in the digital space in the same way as real. The accuracy error from the actual test machining is only a few percent plus or minus.
