MOLDINO: Radius end mill for high hardness materials over 50HRC

On March 22, 2021, MOLDINO, a cutting tool maker under the jurisdiction of Mitsubishi Materials, added a new 4-flute version “EPDREH4-TH3” to the radius end mill “EPDREH-TH3” and launched it.

“EPDREH4-TH3” is effective in machining hardened steel like 50HRC or higher. Such hardened steels are adopted as a die/ mold material for electronic components. The die/ mold demand for electronic components is expected to grow in the future due to the widespread use of electric vehicles and communication equipment.

The new end mill adopts the coating “TH3” for machining high-hardness steel. “TH3” can suppress the displacement of the workpiece dimensions and realize high-precision machining. There are some types of “EPDREH4-TH3” with diameter of 1 mm to 6 mm and a corner radius of 0.02 mm to 1 mm. There are 266 items in total.
