On January 11, 2022, News Digest Publishing, the publisher of SEISANZAI Japan, held a New Year’s event at the Nagoya Congress Center in Atsuta-ku, Nagoya, attended by 519 people from the machine tool industry. The SEISANZAI Japan editorial team will report on the event over the next three days.
At the event, Mr. Hachiro Higuchi, president of News Digest Publishing, gave an address, saying, “The amount of orders for machine tools in 2021 is about 1.55 trillion yen. Both our company and Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association (JMTBA) expect that the amount of machine tool orders will remain high in 2022″.
Then, Mr. Shu Yasumi, editor-in-chief of SEISANZAI Japan, presented the forecast of machine tool orders for 2022. The amount of orders received decreased 3.2% from the previous year to 1.5 trillion yen. “Although the order environment is favorable, production will continue to be tight due to parts shortages,” said Mr. Yasumi.
Dr. Yoshiharu Inaba, chairman of JMTBA, also presented the outlook for machine tool orders in 2022. The amount of orders will be 1.65 trillion yen, up 6.5% from the previous year. Dr. Inaba said, “We want to work hard together with all the member companies of JMTBA”.
