Nabtesco to build new reducer plant

Nabtesco, a builder of reduction gears, built a new plant of precision reduction gears for industrial robots in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Construction of the new plant is scheduled to start in fall 2022, with the building to be completed in September 2023. The total floor area will be 46,900 square meters. The company will invest approximately 47 billion yen by 2026 to sequentially introduce state-of-the-art logistics systems and production facilities. The production capacity of precision reduction gears will be doubled to 2 million units per year by 2026.

The company has a large share of the market for precision reduction gears for medium- and large-sized industrial robots. Demand for robots is growing every year, and the company will build a new plant to meet the strong demand for robots.
