Kyocera launches CVD coated grades CA410K/CA415K for stable and long tool life in cast iron machining

July 18, 2025

New CVD coated carbide grades for cast iron applications

Kyocera has launched two new CVD coated carbide grades, CA410K and CA415K, designed specifically for cast iron machining. The rake face of each insert is treated with a special surface process to suppress coating delamination, while the flank face is reinforced with a high-hardness layer to enhance wear resistance.

Tough coating structure improves durability

A newly developed carbide substrate improves surface toughness, helping prevent cracking and delamination near the coating. These improvements enable long tool life and stable cutting performance even under demanding conditions.

CA410K is suitable for continuous machining, while CA415K is optimized for interrupted cutting.
