Yamazaki Mazak launches “FJV-45/65” gantry machining center for large workpieces with a compact footprint

October 19, 2026

Yamazaki Mazak will launch the “FJV-45/65,” a gantry machining center that combines high-efficiency machining of medium and large workpieces with a space-saving design, on October 26.

In machining applications for semiconductor manufacturing equipment components and dies and molds, demand is growing for larger workpieces and higher productivity. At the same time, space constraints on factory floors make it difficult to introduce large machines.

The FJV-45/65 features a gantry width of 1,120 mm, allowing it to accommodate larger workpieces. Compared with the previous model, “FJV-35/60,” the machinable workpiece volume has increased by approximately 30%, while the installation footprint has increased by only approximately 10%. This expands the machining envelope while limiting the increase in floor space, enabling more efficient use of factory space.

The machine comes standard with a high-output, high-torque spindle with a No. 50 taper. Its symmetrical spindle unit provides excellent thermal displacement control, while the gantry structure is designed for balanced rigidity. These features enable stable, high-precision machining of medium and large workpieces over extended periods.

The FJV-45/65 will be exhibited at JIMTOF2026, the 33rd Japan International Machine Tool Fair, which will run from October 26 to 31.
