OMRON HEALTHCARE announced on May 19, 2020 that it will establish a new production line for electronic thermometers at its Matsusaka plant in Mie Prefecture to meet the increasing demand for thermometry due to the spread of COVID-19. It currently produces electronic thermometers at the plant in Dalian, China, and it continues to increase production due to increasing global demand. The new production line at the Matsusaka plant will start operation in October 2020 and is expected to produce 3 million thermometers annually.
