Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machine Tool launched a double-column machining center “MV16Bx” suitable for heavy cutting of cast parts on September 1, 2020.
The footprint is 6770 x 4760 mm, which is approximately 40% less than the conventional model. On the other hand, the table size is a maximum of 1500 x 3260 mm, which is wider than the conventional one, and productivity per unit area is improved. ]
Besides, the new machine uses cast iron for columns and beds, and adopts the thermally stabilized structure and one-piece column bridge.
It also adopts slide guideway on the Z-axis which makes the machine highly rigid. The new machine utilizes a gear speed reduction system for the spindle. It covers a wide range of machining from heavy-duty machining in the low-speed range to high-speed machining of carbide tools.
