DENSO WAVE, a robot maker belonging to Denso Group, started shipping the new AI software for industrial robots “AI IMITATION LEARNING” on April 1, 2021. The new software will be offered with discretionary price and can be used in a variety of industries and disciplines.
“AI IMITATION LEARNING” is AI software which allows users to easily perform a series of processes of acquisition, learning, and inference of training data. An inference model is generated by letting AI learn the data collected by the user.
The AI infers how the robot moves in the future from the environment and situation where the robot stands and controls the robot arm. It is useful to robotize tasks which are difficult to verbalize, such as weighing green tea powder with a scale.
There are two types of training data collection methods: a master-slave method and a method that generates actions that users want to imitate directly from the program. The master-slave method is that users operate the collaborative robot “COBOTTA” to reproduce the movements users want to imitate (image photo).
The core technology’s AI engine was developed by integral AI, a US start-up. DENSO WAVE offers customers an industrial PC with software installed an AI engine.
