Amada, which operates sheet metal and press businesses, will enter the steel and steel frame market with its fiber laser machine. The company made the announcement at a press conference on November 18, 2021. Amada has been manufacturing laser machines targeting the thin sheet metal and precision sheet metal markets.
Cutting with plasma machines was conventionally the mainstream for steel processing, but the 2018 revision of regulations made it possible to use lasers to pierce holes. In addition, in April this year, metal dust generated by plasma cutting was subject to legal restrictions, providing a tailwind for the expansion of the introduction of fiber laser machines.
Amada Machinery, a group company of Amada, will launch the “LC-VALSTER-AJ series” of fiber laser machines, which responds to high-speed hole piercing of large and medium-thickness plates in April 2022. The LC-VALSTER-AJ series can be equipped with a 10kW high-output oscillator, enabling high-speed and high-quality processing.
The company will offer the “LC-VALSTER-6225AJ”, which has a maximum workpiece processing size of 6200 x 2580 mm, and the “LC-VALSTER-3015AJ”, which has a maximum workpiece processing size of 3070 x 1550 mm.
