YASDA PRECISION TOOLS, Japanese MC manufacturer, donated a large Mars photo panel and aircraft engine parts to the Dr. Nishina Memorial Museum in Satosho, Okayama Prefecture on April 11, 2022(= photo). The museum is an exhibition facility honoring Dr. Yoshio Nishina, known as the “father of atomic physics in Japan”.
YASDA selected the donated items under the theme of aeronautics, and space development with the aim of increasing interest in science among the children who will lead the next generation. The photo panel is 5 meters wide and 2.7 meters high, and uses ultra-high resolution photographs of the surface of Mars taken by NASA’s Mars rover “Curiosity”. The company handled everything from conception to design, production, and installation. The photos taken with a wide-angle lens are reproduced at almost life-size, allowing visitors to experience a simulated experience as if they were on the surface of Mars. YASDA also donated and exhibited aircraft engine parts machined with its machine tools.
At the unveiling ceremony held at the Dr. Nishina Memorial Museum, Mr. Takuto Yasuda, President of YASDA PRECISION TOOLS, said, “Imagination is the beginning of everything. We hope that this will be an opportunity for children to look into science”.
