During the meeting, OMRON highlighted its anticipation of several challenges that Japanese society may face over the next decade due to technological advancements and changing values. Specifically, the company identified three key societal challenges that it plans to address by 2030: “Achieving carbon neutrality,” “Achieving a digitalized society,” and “Extending healthy life expectancy”. To achieve its carbon neutrality goal, OMRON has made progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and aims to achieve “carbon zero” at 10 of its sites in Japan by the end of fiscal 2022. In addition, the company is working to install solar panels and energy-saving equipment at its overseas production sites.
