DMG MORI launches new NMV 5000 DCG 2nd Generation with 17% reduction in cycle time

May 15, 2026

DMG MORI has launched the “NMV 5000 DCG 2nd Generation,” a 5-axis vertical machining center (VMC). The machine is the second generation of the NMV series and features DMG MORI’s “Driven at the Center of Gravity (DCG)” design, which reduces vibration and thermal displacement while improving acceleration. Rigidity has been improved by 49% compared with the previous model thanks to a reinforced Y-axis structure.

High-speed spindle reduces cycle time

The machine features the “speedMASTER” high-speed spindle, which offers a maximum spindle speed of 20,000 rpm. The machine achieves a 17% reduction in cycle time compared with the previous model, driven by faster spindle acceleration and deceleration as well as improved linear axis acceleration.

Optional features enable high-mix, low-volume production and unattended operation

A touch panel display and keyboard provide an intuitive user interface for easy setup. The machine can also be equipped with optional features such as the pallet changer and the robotic system “MATRIS.” This makes the machine suitable for high-mix, low-volume production as well as unattended operation at night and during holidays.

The lineup also includes the “NMV 3000 DCG 2nd Generation,” equipped with an Automatic Work Changer (AWC).
