Takamatsu Machinery postpones the construction of a new machine tool plant

May 12, 2020

Takamatsu Machinery announced on May 1, 2020 that it will postpone the construction of a new machine tool plant in Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Since the demand for machine tools is expected to fall due to the influence of COVID-19, the operation starts  from April 2022 instead of April 2021 originally scheduled. Takamatsu Machinery announced in November 2019 that it would build a new plant due to lack of production space amid steady sales growth. The investment amount is about 3.5 billion yen, and the total floor area is about 12,000 square meters. A part of the manufacturing department’s tasks will be transferred from the head office plant to the new plant to establish a system to increase the production of machine tools.
