MF-TOKYO2023 to kick off with a theme of being friendly to humans and the earth

July 7, 2023

MF-TOKYO2023 (The 7th METAL FORMING FAIR TOKYO), an exhibition specializing in forming technology (presses, sheet metal, forming, automation and peripheral equipment), will be held for four days from July 12 to 15 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo.

First time at the venue in 4 years

MF-TOKYO2023 will open on July 12. The exhibition started in 2009 as a specialized exhibition for press forming machinery and has been held every two years since then, with this year being the 7th edition. In 2021, due to the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics and the impact of the COVID-19 disaster, the exhibition was held online, so it will be the first time in four years that the exhibition will be held in the exhibition halls. Although the number of booths is smaller than the 2019 exhibition, it will be the largest ever, occupying Halls 1 to 5 of Tokyo Big Sight.

The theme of this year’s exhibition was “Technology friendly to humans and the earth, for a reliable future”. Over the past four years, the need for environmental responsiveness has increased dramatically due to growing concern over global warming. Attention will be focused on proposals from a different perspective: how forming machines can respond to carbon neutrality (CN) and sustainable development goals (SDGs), while pursuing improved productivity and processing accuracy.

Hot Product PickUp!

Here are the products to be exhibited at MF-TOKYO2023 from three manufacturers. In addition to processing performance, such as high-efficiency processing and process integration, more and more manufacturers are focusing on areas such as reduced power consumption and ease of maintenance.

3D Fiber Laser Processing Machine

FG-400 NEO, Yamazaki Mazak

Yamazaki Mazak will exhibit two of its latest laser processing machines, as well as machine tools for post-processing and additional machining after laser processing. Of particular note is the “FG-400 NEO” 3D fiber laser cutting machine, which significantly reduces production lead time by integrating all processes from transport to tapping and drilling. It is equipped with an oscillator with high energy conversion efficiency to achieve high-speed processing. With the ability to change the diameter and shape of the beam, the machine is capable of highly efficient processing of various plate thicknesses, from thin to thick plates.

Fiber Laser Cutting Machine

SPF4125/SFX2000D, SHIBUYA

The “SPF4125/SFX2000D” are new fiber laser cutting machines making their debut at MF-TOKYO 2023, equipped with a 2kW oscillator and a processing area of 2550 x 1250 mm for flat processing. In addition to the front cover, both side and top covers open and close for easy loading and unloading of materials and improved access to the processing table. Focus control, air clamps and LED lighting are standard features.

Multitasking Machine

LS3015HL, Murata Machinery

Murata Machinery will exhibit its machine tools, CAD/CAM and other products under the theme “The Open World – Manufacturing that brings out the true value of the factory where everyone is connected and free to choose”. The highlight will be the LS Series HL Model “LS3015HL, ” a multi-tasking machine that combines fiber laser cutting and forming in a single machine. The LS3015HL can perform laser processing, forming and tapping in a single clamping operation, ensuring precision in multitasking. Laser processing can process sheet thicknesses of 6 mm or more.
