MEIDENSHA establishes the new plant of combined unit of drive motors and inverters for EV

MEIDENSHA, electric equipment manufacturer announced on February 28, 2020 that it will build a new plant for combined unit of drive motors and inverters for EV. The investment amount is about 5.1 billion yen with a total floor area of 5,229 square meters. The new plant to be built in the Nagoya works will start construction in August 2020 and start operation in December 2021. The company will build a new plant because new orders of drive motors and inverters for EV are expected as environmental regulations are tightening worldwide. The annual production capacity of the Nagoya Works with the production line currently in operation will increase from 170,000 to 340,000.
