Mazak launches 3D fiber laser processing machine “FG-220”

In October 2021, Yamazaki Mazak, a leading machine tool builder, launched the new 3D fiber laser processing machine “FG-220” worldwide.

The “FG series” is a 3D fiber laser processing machine that enables long steel materials machining used in construction materials and industrial equipment with high accuracy and efficiency. “FG series” can process various long steel materials such as pipe materials, H-beams and C-beams. The “FG-220” is equipped with an eco-friendly fiber laser oscillator, which reduces power consumption by 50% compared to conventional machines.

The “FG-220” can process workpieces with diameters ranging from 20 mm to 220 mm. The rapid traverse speed is 100 m/min for the X-axis, 36 m/min for the Y-axis, and 30 m/min for the Z-axis. The output of the oscillator is 4.0 kW. The machine sizes are 5758 mm in depth, 21,500 mm in length, and 2733 mm in height. The sales target is 36 units per year, with a starting price of 161,150,000 yen without tax.
