Many new products and technologies are showed off
EMO Hannover is the largest machine tool trade shows of the world, which is held in Europe. It is held once every two years in an odd year. The EMO Hannover 2019 will be held at Hannover Messe in Hannover, Germany. More than 2100 companies from 47 countries will take part in, and the exhibition area is about 180,000 square meters, which is almost the same size as the previous EMO. Approximately 130,000 people visited last time.
There are two major features of EMO Hannover: The one, many new products and technologies are unveiled. 70% of exhibitors showcased the new products and technologies at the previous exhibition. The second is its internationality. Approximately 50% of the 130,000 visitors came from countries other than Germany at the last time. About 10% of visitors came from outside Japan at the machine tool trade fair JIMTOF 2018 held in Tokyo, Japan. Comparing with these results, it could be said that EMO Hannover is a very international trade show.
More than 100 machine tools are connected
The theme of EMO Hanover 2019 is “Smart technologies driving tomorrow’s production!” The keyword is Industrie 4. 0 (I4.0), which is promoted by German governments and aims to make the manufacturing industry smarter.
What people would like to focus on related technology of I4.0 is an universal machine tools interface called umati. umati is an open standard, which can easily send the machine tool data of several machine tool builders mounted on various control equipment to higher-level core systems. The special booth for umati will be prepared at EMO Hannover 2019.
The organizer will give a demonstration of connecting more than 100 machine tools to the network using umati. In addition, Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology is one of highlights this time. You can see the AM Circle, a special display of AM technology, at the venue.
Introducing exhibits of Japanese FA builders by six categories
Hannover Messe, the EMO Hannover 2019’s venue, is very huge. It takes fifteen minutes to walk from one end to the other one. Therefore, it is necessary to carry the venue map to go around efficiently. The following photo is a venue map.
